Stewardship and Sustainability

We pay great attention to the sustainability and possible side effects of our operations on the environment. While it is commonly known that farming and related operations have a negative impact on local wildlife biodiversity, this is not entirely true for the Paraguayan Chaco:

  • Paraguay has a very strict deforestation law No. 3001/2006 set in place in 1990 and a system that makes it virtually impossible to disrespect it. INFONA and SEAM are government agency designed specifically for this purpose.

  • All beef production is carried out without the use of any hormones, additives, chemical or organic fertilizer. Cattle are free ranging on open pastures.

  • All Southern Farmlands managed properties, like most serious operations in the region, do not allow hunting.

  • The addition of watering facilities for livestock throughout northern Paraguay have allowed a great increase in wildlife.
